Re-Reading? Re-Viewing? Re-Listening?

MissG said she felt like a rainy day was a good time to begin re-reading LotR. This walk has prompted me to read it again.

I’ve already discovered differences in my memories of the books, which were apparently influenced by Peter Jackson’s LotR Trilogy.

For instance, I thought of Sam and Frodo setting out after a nice hobbit breakfast. Surprise! It was Sam, Frodo, and Pippin setting out as “the stars were growing bright. ‘It’s going to be a fine night,’ he said aloud. ‘That’s good for a beginning. I feel like walking.'”

It’s been warmish here in the day, mid to upper-80s, not as bad as it could be. Too warm on the sidewalks still for my Molly’s sensitive puppy toes. So she and I set out last night, after our supper dishes were done, to walk around the block. It’s just .62 miles but when I add that to today’s steps I may be a bit further along.

Has anyone been prompted to pick up the old tome again? Maybe just page through to favorite parts? Perhaps watch the movie again while walking around the living room?

Oh! I’ve just remembered! I have a copy of the BBC radio production of The Hobbit. I should dig it out and find my Walkman (yes, its on cassette tape) (and yes, I still use my Walkman) and listen to it while I walk.

Let us know if you are reading/watching/listening!
